Color Level Up is a Tanzanian-based creative company founded by two passionate filmmakers and visual storytellers — Amani Upolikwa, a seasoned director, and Mgisha John Mwambigija, the CEO and lead colorist. The company was officially established on October 15, 2023, out of a shared commitment to revolutionize the post-production landscape in Tanzania and East Africa. Driven by their love for visual excellence and social impact, the founders are devoted activists for skill development, with a core mission of empowering youth through hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to professional opportunities in the creative industry. Our primary focus is on color grading, an essential yet often overlooked art form in visual media. We aim to bridge the knowledge gap and open up career paths in the film and digital content industries by nurturing aspiring talent in areas such as: Color Grading for Film, TV, and Online Video: Training individuals to become professional colorists who can transform raw footage into visually compelling narratives. Video Editing: Equipping learners with skills to edit raw footage and apply color grading techniques to bring content to life. Content Creation for Social Media: Guiding creators in grading and refining their visual content for platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to enhance storytelling and build strong personal or brand identities. Color Grading Education: Offering comprehensive instruction through masterclasses, workshops, and online courses, as well as free and paid tutorials on platforms such as YouTube. Our mission is to unlock the potential of unemployed and underrepresented youth by equipping them with in-demand skills in color grading, video editing, and digital content creation. We aim to turn passion into profession by training 1,000 new creative entrepreneurs every year through a blend of practical masterclasses, hands-on workshops, and accessible online learning platforms. By focusing on both artistic development and economic empowerment, we are helping young people not just find jobs—but create them, becoming self-reliant creators and industry pioneers.
